Why another temple, ISKCON has a temple already?
- There has been tremendous growth in the St. Louis community. The current downtown temple has reached its capacity. This temple will fulfill the growing spiritual educational needs and to promote Vedic culture in broader St Louis community not limited to the color, race, cast and religious affiliation.
- Promote “Simple living high thinking”, Dedicated place for yoga, meditation and healthy living
- This place will be Authentic, Impactful, Life changing and all inclusive.
- Celebrate our festivals in a grandiose fashion.
What will this project include?
Phase 1 will require the main hall modification, place a new altar, larger sets of Deities, kitchen repairs, education wing, living quarter for at least 5-6 devotees and rest rooms. The outside commercial Kitchen, Pavillion and rest rooms will need clean up and modification to fulfill our needs.
Phase 2 will include modification of the exterior, placement of domes or Shikar and a new temple hall on the 2nd floor.
What is the cost of remodeling or phase 1?
Total cost will be approximately 1 million dollars.
What are the goals from 2025 fundraiser?
“One million” dollars.
What are the expected time lines to complete this Phase 1?
Meetings with architects are in progress. This phase to be completed in 6-9 months.
How the temple is going to be maintained?
Through Govinda’s authentic vegetarian cuisine, rental of the pavilion for weddings or other parties, other temple services and also your monthly/yearly donations.
